Getting to the four main towns in the region of East Midlands Airport – Derby, Long Eaton, Nottingham and Loughborough - by public transport is straightforward, with buses and taxis running to each city frequently, from where train services run to various locations throughout the rest of the UK.
Rail and metro: although there is no direct rail service to East Midlands Airport, the nearby cities of Nottingham, Derby and Loughborough are easily accessed by buses and taxis from the airport. Each of these towns is on the main UK rail network, from where you can get to most parts of the country via InterCity trains, with Midland Mainline and Central Trains. A Midland Mainline free phone booking centre is located near the information desk on the main concourse of the airport.
Shuttles and buses: there are numerous bus and shuttle services that run between East Midlands Airport and surrounding regional towns and cities as well as onto destinations farther afield via National Express coaches. The Rainbow number 5 bus service links Nottingham with Loughborough and goes via the airport every 30 minutes; this service also calls at Nottingham Railway Station. In addition, the Air-Line shuttle links the airport with Derby and Loughborough bus and train stations, while National Express airport service 240 runs from East Midlands Airport to Bradford, Leeds, Sheffield, Luton and Heathrow and Gatwick airports.
