Transportation
Glasgow is a fair distance from Prestwick Airport, although buses, trains and taxis ply the route between the airport and the city both day and night. Trains run to Glasgow every 30 minutes and buses are also very regular. You can reach many regional towns by bus and taxi from the airport and shuttle buses are provided by major hotel operations.
Rail & metro: there is a train station at Glasgow Prestwick Airport, which is connected to the terminal building by a covered walkway. Trains run to Glasgow every 30 minutes on weekdays and hourly on Sundays, from where trains run to destinations all over the UK. Trains also run to Prestwick and Ayr from the airport.
Shuttles & buses: Stagecoach Western’s X77 bus service runs between Glasgow Prestwick Airport and Glasgow city centre (Buchanan Bus Station) throughout the day from 06:30 to 22:20. Buses go every 30 minutes to Glasgow city centre, while late night and early morning arrivals can make use of the X99 service to get to the city. National Express coaches also operate from Prestwick Airport to destinations nationwide.
Taxi & limo: Ayr Black Taxis offer taxi services from Glasgow Prestwick Airport, with taxis available on-the-spot 24 hours from outside the terminal building, or alternatively you can pre-book a vehicle by calling: +44 129 247 1600. Ayr Black Taxis have provisions for disabled and wheelchair-bound passengers, with seven-seater vehicles available.
