Special needs
Liverpool John Lennon International Airport caters well for disabled people and the airport meets with European standards for disabled persons’ facilities. A wide range of facilities and services are in place for those in wheelchairs, the hard of hearing and partially-sighted travellers including porter assistance for hassle-free transit. If you think you will need special assistance while at the airport, you should call your airline ahead of time and a porter will be assigned to assist you from the car park up until you board your aircraft if necessary.
Disabled facilities at Liverpool Airport include: wide aisles and elevators; specially adapted toilets throughout the terminal; low-level public telephones on every floor; wheelchairs on request; an ambulift to assist with boarding and alighting of aircraft and conveniently located disabled parking spaces for disabled persons’ badge holders.
Induction loop systems have also been installed at Liverpool John Lennon International Airport, so that those with hearing problems can hear important announcements. Terminal signs are designed to be easy to read for partially sighted passengers.
