Special needs
Aberdeen Airport (ABZ) is well equipped to deal with passengers with special needs. The airport is a single-floor facility, making it easy to get around, and it conforms to international standards for the provision of passengers with special needs.
Aberdeen Airport is well designed with disabled travellers in mind; wide aisles and ramps have been implemented and installed where necessary and signage is large and clear. Adapted toilets have been fitted throughout the terminal and there is plenty of space for wheelchair users to move about. In addition, telephones have been adapted for the use of wheelchair-bound visitors and disabled car parking and special seating is also in place. Should you require assistance at the airport, call the information desk on: +44 870 040 0006, or alternatively, call your airline ahead of time if you require assistance from the car park to the airport.
For those with hearing impairments, Aberdeen Airport has induction loop systems installed throughout the terminal, so that announcements can be heard; these are marked with the letter ‘T’. In addition, there is a minicom system in the airport that can be accessed by calling: +44 122 472 5082.
For partially-sighted passengers, airport signage is made up of black letters and numbers on a yellow backing for better visibility. Information staff are also able to provide blind and partially-sighted passengers with additional help.
