Facilities
Birmingham International airport has excellent facilities to cope with the eight million people who use the terminal annually and meets expectations for convenience of shopping, withdrawing money, eating and drinking and overlaying in comfort. There are sufficient business facilities and wifi access is provided throughout the common public areas. Duty Free shopping is also well provided.
Money: ATMs are scattered throughout both terminals and there are currency exchange booths located on each floor of the two terminals. There are also business services available in both Departures lounges, with credit card operated facilities, including telephone and email, in Terminal 1, and photocopy, telephone and fax facilities available in the Eurohub.
Services: a post office is located in Terminal 1, along with a left luggage facility which is open from 05:00 to 23:00. In addition prayer rooms are also located in both terminals as well as 24 hour first aid help.
Smoking: both terminals have designated smoking areas near the refreshments areas. According to UK smoking laws it is now an offence to smoke in enclosed public areas unless otherwise designated for smoking.
Special needs: Birmingham International Airport (BHX) conforms to the World airport standards for mobility assistance, with designated parking, induction loop systems, as well as boarding assistance and adapted toilets, telephones, lifts and ramps.
