Special needs
East Midlands Airport meets with EU standards for the provision of disabled passengers in airports and it has a number of quality facilities and services in place including porter assistance and designated parking. However, should you require assistance with boarding, call your airline ahead of time to arrange for free special porter assistance throughout the terminal to avoid delays.
Wheelchairs are provided free of charge and can be used throughout the terminal building at East Midlands Airport. There are also fully-equipped, disabled persons’ toilets both sides of security as well as volume-adjustable public telephones in all areas including a lowered telephone in Departures. A first-aid room and designated parking spaces for disabled badge holders are also available.
In addition, an induction loop system has been installed at East Midlands Airport for the hard of hearing, while partially-sighted passengers are allowed to bring their assistance dogs into the terminal building. All terminal signs are easy to read and staff at the information desk can provide additional service by calling an assistance porter should you need extra help. If you require further information with regards to facilities for those with special needs, call East Midlands Airport on: +44 133 285 2852.
