East Midlands Airport Information (EMA)
Conveniently located right in the centre of England, in between Birmingham and Nottingham, East Midlands Airport is central to many important towns and cities in the region and is an ideal arrival point for those intent on visiting Donington Race Track. The airport is a busy facility serving around four million passengers per year and is mostly served by low-cost airlines that operate routes to holiday and business destinations across the UK and Europe.
East Midlands Airport has business facilities at the Euroclass Lounge and the Diamond Club Lounge, where internet access and fax and photocopying facilities are available, while fax and photocopy machines are also available for public use at the information desk. The modern airport comes with an array of passenger facilities including the essentials such as bureaux de change booths and cash machines. There is also a lost property service, fist-aid room, chapel, baby care rooms and children’s video arcades on-site as well as a good selection of cafés, restaurants and shops, including duty-free.
Transport options from East Midlands Airport to the nearest major towns of Derby, Nottingham and Loughborough are good and although there is no rail service to the airport, each of these towns is on the main national rail network and well fed by frequent bus services. Buses also run from the airport to Bradford, Coventry, Leeds, Sheffield, Heathrow and Gatwick airports, while taxis run 24 hours.
