Transport from Gatwick
London Gatwick is well supported by a solid ground transportation infrastructure and passengers arriving at the airport will find a variety of options available for connecting with their onward destination. The London Gatwick Express rail service is the best option for many, providing cheap and speedy transport, while taxis provide a more expensive but comfortable alternative. Shuttles and limousines are also on hand.
Rail and metro: the Gatwick Express train service runs from the airport to London Victoria Station every 15 minutes throughout the day and journeys take an average of 30 minutes. From Victoria Station, regional and national connections are available. Thameslink also provides rail connections from the airport to the city, but these services are slightly slower at about 40 minutes per journey. Additionally, Thameslink services run beyond the city, covering Brighton and Bedford.
Shuttles and buses: shuttles operated by Speedlink provide connections between London Gatwick and London Heathrow airports, while Flightline operates shuttle services to London’s Victoria Station. For significant national destinations, the National Express coach network runs a large number of routes across the country.
Taxi and limo: black cabs are available from ranks situated directly outside of both terminal buildings for journeys to the city and beyond. Expect trips to the city centre to be in excess of 45 minutes, as traffic is invariably busy. Limousine services are available from Gatwick Airport Cars (+44 1293 562 291) and Gatwick Goldline Cars (+44 1293 568 468).
