Shopping and eating at Heathrow Airport
Restaurants and bars: there are literally hundreds of places where you can enjoy food and drink at London Heathrow Airport, with cafés, snack bars, coffee shops, fast-food joints, bistros, food courts, food villages, self-service restaurants, full-service restaurants and many bars and traditionally pubs on offer. Drinking and dining establishments are well distributed throughout the four terminals, with a good supply of eateries and watering holes in both the Arrivals and Departures areas of each terminal.
Convenience items: there is a great selection of shops at London Heathrow Airport in every terminal, on each floor, before and after security. There are shops in every category including bookshops, newsagents, pharmacies, convenience stores, clothing shops and boutiques as well as sunglasses, perfume, jewellery, electrical, shoe and confectionery outlets. You can even get pick up prescriptions at the Terminal 1 chemist.
Duty free shopping: Heathrow Airport is particularly revered for its duty-free offerings, with a huge number of stores spread throughout the Departures area of all four terminals. In fact, Heathrow Airport offers the best choice of duty-free in Europe, with everything on offer from high street stores, designer clothing, chocolates and sunglasses to a huge range of perfumes, tobaccos and alcohol. Note that you must have a boarding pass for travel outside of the European Union to take advantage of tax-free prices.
