All transport options are available in getting to and from London Heathrow Airport to central London and other major UK centres. There is a rail station located nearby that is accessible by shuttle bus, providing fast access to Paddington Station in London, while all terminals also have access to a London Underground station. Shuttle buses, regular buses and coaches also serve the airport, as do taxis and limousines, which are the most expensive means of getting into London.
Rail and metro: the Heathrow Express offers fast access to central London from Heathrow Airport. The train takes 20 minutes to reach London’s Paddington Station and services operate every 15 minutes, seven days a week. In addition, the Piccadilly line operates London Underground services, which make regular stops at terminals 1, 2, 3 and 4. This service takes about one hour to get to central London (longer during rush hours) and runs from 05:30 to 00:30.
Shuttles and buses: London Heathrow Airport has a central bus station for terminals 1, 2, and 3, and a separate stop at Terminal 4. The A2 Airbus shuttle runs from all terminals to London King’s Cross Railway Station in central London, while the N9 bus is a nightly service that runs the same route. In addition, passengers staying in hotels near Heathrow Airport can make use of the Hotel Hoppa bus, while National Express coaches serve London Victoria Coach Station as well as destinations nationwide.
Taxi and limo: if you want to take a taxi to London or your hotel from London Heathrow Airport, London black cabs go from all four terminal forecourts and do not need to be booked in advance. Cabs are well controlled to meet the demands of arriving passengers and take about one hour to reach central London. Three or four limousine operations also serve London Heathrow Airport, offering greater comfort and style. Airport Transfer Service, Royal Silver Service, ChauffeurExec and London Black Cabs are the major limousine companies serving the airport.
