Manchester Airport Information (MAN)
Located south of the city, Manchester International Airport is listed as one of Great Britain's busiest airports, facilitating over 189,000 flights and serving nearly 20 million passengers per annum. The airport is the biggest and busiest in the north west of England and it provides a gateway to the world for the city's large population and for residents of neighbouring towns such as Warrington and Liverpool, and those in the county Cheshire. The airport operates three terminals, which handle an extensive number of domestic and international carriers.
The airport is well equipped for those wishing to hold meetings or conferences, while individual business travellers will find business centres located at the Radisson and Atlantic hotels, which are both located close to the terminal buildings. ATMs can be found throughout the airport and are generally situated near to lounge areas and check-in desks. Meanwhile, bureau de change counters are on hand in all three terminals for passenger requiring foreign currency. Disabled persons’ facilities are excellent and a variety of parking options are available.
Public buses serve the airport at regular intervals throughout the day, providing connections with the city centre and the suburbs of Greater Manchester. The city's main train station at Piccadilly provides nationwide connections and is served by a regular bus service. Meanwhile, National Express coach services are on hand to provide travel to destinations farther afield. Taxis are available for door-to-door transport services.
